“Illuminating Life’s possibilities through empowerment opportunities”
Light Community Resource Center (LCRC) is a 501C3 organization designed to empower our community through strategic partnerships. We were born out of the outreach work already started by The Light Community and continue our emphasis on three major areas: educational empowerment, employment empowerment and economic empowerment. While these three E’s can overlap and intersect, all of them are equally important in our homes and communities at large.
Through intentional school partnerships, empowerment classes and training for all ages, we provide resource connections and strategies for everyone to live a more abundant and fulfilled life. Focusing on economic, educational, and employment empowerment also allows for more equitable opportunities to diverse audiences.
Our board is comprised of community members who are well connected, multi-faceted and enthusiastic about the advancement of our families. Banking officials, violence prevention advocates, clergy, educators, and community organizers make up this fantastic team:
Mark Banks, Gwen Davis, Antoinette Rogers, Kimberly Ridley, and Terrence Walker.
LCRC designs and provides its services and programs to support people of color but does not discriminate against anyone who would like to partake of what we have to offer and meets the appropriate guidelines. As a nonprofit organization we are not tied to any religious practices or doctrines.
